Document Line 1: The quantity to allocate on the line exceeds the quantity available at the warehouse .

The quotation is converted but this alerts you to the fact it is only part-allocated and you will need to allocate stock to complete the order once it is available.

When you continue, you confirm the quotation to order conversion. If you are converting a quotation which was raised against the default Prospect account, you must select an existing customer account for the converted order or you can create a new customer account at this point.

Open: Sales Orders > Quotations > Delete Quote .

From time to time, you will want to delete quotations that you no longer need, either because the quotation has been converted to a sales order or the customer did not want to proceed and so the quotation has become redundant.

You can delete any quotation, even ones that have been converted to pro formas or sales orders.

Open: Sales Orders > Reports > Status .

Converted Quotations .

The Converted Quotations report lists which quotes have been converted to sales orders. This can be either direct from a quote, or when converted to a pro forma and then a sales order.

The report shows the Sales Order and Pro Forma Invoice numbers.

Quotations with Outstanding Pro Formas .

This report shows you quotes that have been converted to pro formas, but the pro formas are still live and have not yet been completed. This is useful to find pro formas that require payment, or can be deleted.

In L'imparfait , almost all verbs conjugate in the same way, but verbs ending in -ger require a slight spelling change- an extra 'e' after the soft 'g' - to keep the pronunciation [j].

L'imparfait , verbs ending in

Notice that in the nous and vous forms, the -e of mange has been removed because the -i is enough to keep the g soft.

"Nous changions de voiture tous les ans". Why can't we say "Nous changions une/notre voiture tous les ans"?

When do we use "changer de" and when do we use "changer"? What is their difference?

Thank you

Hi Joan,

and have a very similar meaning albeit not exactly the same.

-- to switch, to change over, a change of something -- to change, to exchange

-- We used to have a change of cars every year. -- We used to change the car every year.

That's my understanding of the matter, but the opinion of a native speaker would be appreciated.

-- Chris (not a native speaker).

Share certificate printing

Posted by Dave Bull on May 27, 2018 [ Permalink ]

The other day I mentioned that I had been working on the Share Certificates for Pateron backers, and I had more time for that job today too. Those previous tests had been for the woodblock part, but today's test was to see which paper worked best for the ink-jet part of the work.

I used the same nine types that were in the previous test:

... and I used a small crop from the certificate itself. It doesn't make sense to use the entire sheets for these test, as I had to play with various settings on the printer and driver ...

Here's what seems like it might be the best of the batch:

So after some fiddling with the layout of the printout on the sheet, I managed to get a pretty nice sample!

The ink-jet part is not as sharp and clear as I would like, but I think that considering we are printing on soft I suspect that this is what we are going to get ...

Viewed from the back, you can clearly see the portion that has been traditionally printed:

So I'm ready to go; I've placed an order for a stack of that paper, and once it arrives, I'll get printing. The certificates should be on the way without any further delay!

Test printing for the upcoming Share Certificate issue ...

to read the full entry | Separate page

I finally found a few minutes this evening to do some test printing on the Share Certificate for the Patreon backers.

This is not a trivial project to print - the finished sheet will have the basic background and lettering printed mechanically (either colour laser or ink-jet), but the highlight image in the centre will be produced with traditional carving and printing methods.

Choice of paper thus becomes a very important factor, and then the big question - which part is printed first?

As for paper choice, I'm starting with a package of sample papers produced by the Awagami Company here in Japan. They have a complete line of papers that they claim are suitable for machine printing, and although I've never used such a thing before, this project seems like the perfect chance to see how they work.

And I think there is actually no choice when it comes to deciding on the printing order. These papers are all labelled as being for 'ink jet' printers, so it seems to me that I have to do the woodblock work first. That's because I need to moisten the paper to print, and I doubt that I will be able to do that after the ink jet work is done ...

Here's the result of this evening's trial printing:

The best one? Well, in this first trial printing, the sheet of paper from our usual supplier - Ichibei Iwano - seemed to give the best results, but perhaps that's because I have a lot of experience using it ...

But the open question is what happens in the next round of testing - putting these things through an ink-jet printer. We'll find out in a couple of days!
